Par Diem ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you use Par Diem, how we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have regarding your data.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and name. You may optionally provide a profile photo.

Golf Profile and Coaching Data

To provide personalized coaching, we collect and store:

  • Your handicap index, goal handicap, starting handicap, and improvement goals
  • Your home course and list of courses you have played or want to play
  • Your stated golf weaknesses, play frequency, and coaching preferences
  • Post-round debrief conversations, including strengths, weaknesses, and mental patterns you describe
  • Coaching chat conversation history
  • In-round notes captured during play, including associated hole numbers and timestamps
  • Practice plans generated for you based on your coaching profile and debrief history
  • AI-synthesized coaching themes and pattern analyses derived from your usage over time
  • Pre-round playbook notes and round declaration records
  • Caddie notebooks generated for specific courses

Trip Planning Data

When you use Par Diem's trip planning features, we collect:

  • Trip names, destinations, dates, and notes
  • Itinerary items, including tee times, accommodations, car rentals, and other activities
  • Participant information: names, email addresses of invited participants, and RSVP status
  • Budget information and cost estimates
  • AI-generated trip brochures and full conversation history from trip planning chats

Golf Community Data

If you use the Golf Community feature, we store:

  • Your golf contacts' names, email addresses, handicap indices, home courses, and any notes you add
  • Shared golf history you record, including rounds played together, trips taken together, and how you met

Payment Information

Payments are processed by our third-party payment provider, Stripe. We do not store your credit card number, expiration date, or CVV on our servers. We retain records of your subscription status, billing dates, and transaction references needed to manage your account and comply with financial regulations.

Affiliate Tracking Data

Par Diem participates in the CJ Affiliate Network (operated by CJ International GmbH, part of Publicis Groupe, headquartered in France). When you click a booking or affiliate link within Par Diem — currently Booking.com links in trip planning features — CJ's tracking technology (cookies and pixels) may record:

  • Browser and device identifiers (user-agent string, browser version, cookie IDs)
  • Your IP address at the time of the click
  • Click timestamp and the link destination
  • Transactional data if you complete a booking (order ID, order amount, timestamp) — used to calculate commissions owed to Par Diem

This data is collected by CJ on their own systems and is governed by CJ's Services Privacy Policy.

Par Diem receives only aggregate commission reporting from CJ. We do not receive or store your individual transactional details from Booking.com or other affiliate partners.

If you would prefer that CJ not track your clicks, you may opt out via CJ's opt-out mechanism. Contact us at hello@pardiem.com for assistance finding the current opt-out link.

If you are located in the EU or UK: CJ's data collection via affiliate cookies may constitute processing requiring your consent under GDPR. CJ is responsible for obtaining and managing that consent as the data controller for their tracking systems. You have the right to withdraw any consent you have given to CJ at any time through their opt-out mechanism noted above.

Usage Data

We collect standard technical usage data including your device type, operating system, browser, IP address, pages visited within the app, and general usage patterns. This information helps us maintain, improve, and troubleshoot the service.

Feedback and Support Communications

If you contact us via our feedback or support form, we collect the content of your message, your email address and name, and any optional device or browser context you choose to share with us.

Health and Biometric Data (Connected Apps)

Par Diem optionally integrates with third-party health and wearable apps to enrich your coaching experience. Currently supported: Oura Ring.

If you choose to connect Oura, Par Diem requests access via Oura's OAuth authorization flow and reads the following data from your Oura account:

  • Daily readiness score and readiness contributors
  • Sleep duration and sleep score
  • Resting heart rate
  • Heart rate variability (HRV)

This data is used solely to personalize your pre-round coaching brief (Game Plan) and coaching chat context — for example, noting that your readiness is low before a round and adjusting coaching cues accordingly. Health and biometric data values are fetched fresh from Oura's API each session and are not stored persistently by Par Diem — only the timestamp of your last sync is recorded.

Connecting Oura is entirely optional and requires your explicit authorization. You may disconnect Oura at any time from your My Game account settings, which immediately revokes Par Diem's access to your Oura data. This data is treated as health information and is subject to the heightened protections described in this policy.

Health and biometric data from connected apps is never used for advertising, sold to third parties, or shared beyond what is described in this policy.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and operate the Par Diem service
  • Generate AI-powered coaching insights, trip recommendations, and course guides personalized to your golf profile
  • Process payments and manage your subscription or Trip Pass access
  • Send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset, trip invitations, subscription receipts, and relevant product notifications)
  • Diagnose and fix technical issues, and improve the product based on usage patterns
  • Respond to your support requests and feedback
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising or share it with ad networks. We do not use your personal coaching or golf data to train AI models for any purpose other than generating responses in your own session.

3. AI Processing — How Anthropic Is Involved

Par Diem uses Anthropic's Claude AI models to power coaching conversations, trip planning, caddie notebook generation, and other AI features. When you interact with any AI feature, the relevant context — which may include your coaching profile, debrief history, trip details, course information, and your messages — is sent to Anthropic's API to generate a response.

Anthropic processes this data to produce the AI-generated response and handles it in accordance with their own privacy and usage policies. We encourage you to review Anthropic's Privacy Policy to understand how they handle API data.

We limit the data sent to Anthropic to what is reasonably necessary to generate a personalized, helpful response. We do not send payment information or raw authentication credentials to Anthropic.

If you have connected a third-party health app (such as Oura Ring), relevant health data — such as your readiness score, HRV, or sleep quality — may be included as part of the context sent to Anthropic's API to generate personalized coaching responses. This is disclosed here so you understand the full scope of data that may be included in AI prompt context. Anthropic does not use API request data to train its models, per their usage policies.

4. Third-Party Services We Use

We share data with the following service providers as necessary to operate Par Diem:

  • Supabase — Database and authentication infrastructure. Your account data and all app content are stored in Supabase's managed PostgreSQL database, hosted on AWS. Row-level security is enforced so that each user's data is accessible only to them and to authorized Par Diem service operations. Supabase Privacy Policy
  • Anthropic — AI model provider. Your coaching, trip, and chat data is sent to Anthropic's API to generate AI responses, as described in Section 3. Anthropic Privacy Policy
  • Stripe — Payment processing. Your payment information is transmitted directly to Stripe and governed by their security standards (PCI DSS Level 1). We share only what Stripe requires to complete a transaction and manage your subscription. Stripe Privacy Policy
  • Resend — Transactional email delivery. Your email address is shared with Resend to deliver account and product emails on our behalf. Resend Privacy Policy
  • Oura — Health data platform (optional integration). If you connect your Oura account, Par Diem accesses your daily readiness metrics via the Oura Cloud API using OAuth. This connection requires your explicit authorization and can be revoked at any time from your account settings. Oura processes your health data in accordance with their own privacy policy.   • Vercel — Application hosting and infrastructure. Par Diem is hosted on Vercel's platform. Your requests pass through Vercel's servers. Vercel Privacy Policy
  • KAYAK — Affiliate flight and car rental links. When you click on flight or car rental links within Par Diem, you are directed to KAYAK's website. Par Diem may receive an affiliate commission on bookings made through these links. We do not share your personal data with KAYAK — link clicks are the extent of the relationship. KAYAK Privacy Policy
  • CJ Affiliate (Commission Junction) — Affiliate network provider. When you click Booking.com hotel links within Par Diem, CJ's tracking technology records the click and any resulting commission-eligible transaction. CJ is part of Publicis Groupe and operates internationally. Par Diem receives commission reporting only — not your individual personal data.
  • Booking.com — Hotel booking partner. Par Diem surfaces Booking.com links in trip planning features. If you click a Booking.com link and make a reservation, Booking.com and CJ may record transaction data for commission purposes. Par Diem does not share your personal profile data with Booking.com — link clicks are the extent of the relationship. Booking.com Privacy Policy

We do not share your personal data with any other third parties except as required by law.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account and app data for as long as your account remains active. When you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain certain records for legal or compliance purposes (for example, financial transaction records may be retained for up to 7 years as required by law).

Coaching conversations, debrief records, and in-round notes are retained for the lifetime of your account because they power the longitudinal coaching insights that make Par Diem useful over time. You may delete individual debriefs, notes, or trips from within the app at any time.

6. Your Privacy Rights

All Users

Regardless of where you are located, you have the right to:

  • Access: Request a summary of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct: Update inaccurate information through your account settings or by contacting us
  • Delete: Request that we delete your account and all associated personal data
  • Opt out of AI features: Stop using AI coaching or trip planning features at any time by not interacting with those sections of the app

California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we collect about you and how it is used and shared
  • Request deletion of your personal information
  • Correct inaccurate personal information
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information (we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising)
  • Limit the use of your sensitive personal information — health and biometric data from connected apps (such as Oura) constitutes "sensitive personal information" under CPRA. We collect this data only with your explicit opt-in by connecting your account, and we use it solely to personalize your coaching features, never for advertising or profiling
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights

European and UK Users (GDPR / UK GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you have additional rights under GDPR, including:

  • The right to data portability — receiving your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • The right to restrict processing in certain circumstances
  • The right to object to processing based on our legitimate interests
  • The right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority

Our legal basis for processing your data is primarily the performance of our contract with you (providing the service you signed up for) and, in some cases, our legitimate interests in improving the service and maintaining security.

Special category health data: Health and biometric data from connected apps (such as readiness scores and HRV from Oura) constitutes "special category" personal data under GDPR Article 9. Our legal basis for processing this data is your explicit consent, which you provide when you choose to connect your Oura account via our OAuth authorization flow. You may withdraw this consent at any time by disconnecting Oura from your account settings — we will immediately cease processing your health data through Par Diem.

How to Exercise Your Rights

To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, contact us at hello@pardiem.com or through our Contact page. We will respond within 30 days. We may ask you to verify your identity before processing your request.

7. Children's Privacy

Par Diem is not directed at individuals under 18 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a minor, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us at hello@pardiem.com.

8. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including:

  • Encrypted data transmission via HTTPS for all app traffic
  • Row-level security on our database, restricting data access to the authenticated account owner
  • Server-side API calls for all AI and payment operations — sensitive keys are never exposed to the browser
  • OAuth access tokens for connected third-party apps (such as Oura Ring) are stored server-side only, encrypted at rest, and are never transmitted to or accessible from the browser
  • Restricted access to production systems and credentials

No method of data transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we take reasonable precautions, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.

9. Cookies and Tracking

Par Diem uses session cookies that are strictly necessary for authentication and maintaining your logged-in state. We do not use third-party advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or behavioral analytics cookies. We do not share browsing data with ad networks or use cookies to build advertising profiles.

When you first visit Par Diem, a cookie notice is displayed to confirm your preferences. Because we only use strictly necessary cookies, this notice is provided as a transparency measure — no consent is required for the app to function. You may dismiss the notice at any time.

Affiliate tracking cookies: When you click a Booking.com or other affiliate link within Par Diem, third-party cookies may be set by CJ Affiliate on your device to track the click for commission purposes. These cookies are set by CJ, not by Par Diem, and are governed by CJ's cookie and privacy policies. Par Diem's own cookies remain limited to strictly necessary authentication cookies as described above.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the product evolves. We will notify you of material changes via email or through an in-app notice before they take effect. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Your continued use of Par Diem after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
